Our Mission

Welcome to Refuge Soccer Club! We offer both recreational and competitive teams for players aged 6 to 18. Our club focuses on skill development, teamwork, and fun, providing an inclusive environment for players of all levels.

If you would like to help provide supplies for the soccer club, please see the list of needed items below:

  • Gently used or new soccer cleats (any size)

  • Gently used or new shin guards (any size)

  • Soccer balls

  • Cones or other practice items

Items can be dropped off at the Refuge office (1536 State St, Bowling Green, KY 42101)

Refuge Select

Our Refuge Select teams (U14-U18) compete at the highest level of Kentucky Youth Soccer, participating in leagues and tournaments across the state. These teams showcase the exceptional talent of our players while fostering unity among refugee and immigrant youth from diverse backgrounds.

On the field, we focus on helping each player reach their fullest potential through rigorous training and competition. Off the field, we are committed to developing strong, compassionate leaders who positively impact their communities, ensuring they carry these values forward for future generations.

Refuge Soccer Club Pathway

  • This is the highest level of competition in our club, where players will compete in statewide leagues and tournaments, representing the club in matches across Kentucky.

  • Our focus here is on player development. Teams will engage in numerous local games against other clubs to enhance skills while fostering a love for the game.

  • Emphasizing fun and exercise, this program allows younger players to enjoy soccer through friendly, in-house games within the club.

Refuge Academy

Our Refuge Academy teams (U8-U13) focus on player development through local matches and participation in state-wide recreational tournaments. These teams provide a nurturing environment where players can grow their skills and passion for the game while forming strong bonds with teammates from diverse backgrounds.

On the field, we emphasize individual and team growth, fostering a love for soccer and competition. Off the field, we encourage personal development, helping players build character and confidence that extend beyond the game, setting the foundation for future success.

Refuge Pre-Academy

Our Refuge Pre-Academy teams (U6-U7) prioritize fun and foundational skill development. These young players participate in local matches, enjoying the excitement of the game in a supportive and encouraging environment.

At this stage, our focus is on fostering a love for soccer while building the essential skills needed for future growth. Through playful, engaging activities, we aim to instill confidence, teamwork, and a passion for the sport that will last a lifetime.
