Walking with the Wounded & Mentorship & Sponsorship Explained
Assisting individuals who have undergone a traumatic experience may be challenging. We are pleased to offer an introductory class in partnership with KY Steps (Trauma Center). The course aims to equip you with essential information and tools that can aid you in assisting others who have gone through trauma.
This class will also cover fundamental topics regarding sponsoring refugees through a program known as "Welcome Corps" and mentoring families and young individuals who reside in our community already.

Overcoming Challenges with Language Barriers & Mitigating Burnout
Are you struggling to communicate with someone who speaks a different language? This course will equip you with the necessary tools to effectively communicate with individuals who don't speak your language. We will explore various language resources and practical tools that you can use to start communicating with others who speak a different language.
We understand that helping others can be challenging, and that's why this class will also cover essential topics on how to avoid burnout, enabling you to continue assisting longer. This part of the training will be led by KY Steps, a local therapy center that specializes in helping people from different cultures. Their unique perspective will help you navigate long-term care of immigrants and refugees.

This training session aims to equip you with practical tools to communicate efficiently with people from different backgrounds and cultures. We will also discuss how to establish and maintain effective partnerships with refugees and immigrants to achieve common goals.
Refugee Simulation & Welcoming Refugees
Refugees often experience significant challenges in their home country before being forced to flee to another country for refuge. Their dangerous journey and extended stay in a refugee camp can result in various physical and mental health issues. In this training session, we will discuss the reasons behind their displacement, the potential mental health challenges that may arise due to ongoing trauma, and how we can help to welcome refugees when they arrive.
