Mentorship is a relationship in which one person invests time and care in the life of another person. Many times the person being mentored (mentee) is younger than the person who is doing the mentoring.
Youth Mentorship Program
Refuge Bowling Green is seeking committed individuals to serve as mentors for refugees ages 15-24 years old as a part of our Mentorship Program. Mentors will play a vital role in helping newly arrived refugee youth adapt to life in America. This role involves providing guidance, support, and encouragement to mentees, with a focus on academic success, college/career readiness, job placement, and various life skills.

Mentor Requirements
Weekly meetings with assigned mentee(s)
Meeting with mentee(s) for 6 hours a month for 6 months
Sending meeting reports to program coordinator after each meeting
Ensuring effective and culturally sensitive communication with mentee(s) and their family
Help mentee(s) reach their assigned goals and put them on the path to self-sustainability
Watch assigned training videos bi-monthly
