Refuge BG is a locally founded and community driven non-profit that helps refugees thrive in their new home. We take a holistic approach, driven by the love of Christ, to help refugees acclimate in our community by providing both services and opportunities.

Our mission
Refuge Bowling Green is committed to empowering and supporting foreign-born individuals by offering comprehensive services and opportunities that encourage self-reliance. We are dedicated to fostering unity and cultivating a diverse, vibrant community where everyone feels welcome. Through comprehensive training, coaching, and resources, we equip community members to effectively support and embrace their foreign-born neighbors, building bridges and promoting harmonious coexistence.
Welcome
We empower community members to serve families who are either resettling or relocating to our city. Welcome teams commit to creating a positive, welcoming space for the family’s arrival. They then work at being a helpful resource and loving influence as families make Bowling Green their home.
Journey
The needs of refugees extend to many areas during and beyond their initial months of resettlement. Our aim is for our partners to journey alongside them in these varied areas. This will allow them to model neighborly love as they empower refugees toward greater independence and cultural acclimation.
Abide
Our hope is that community members will establish long-term initiatives and strategies around embracing the refugees in our city, and that some groups would be called to adopt a community as a whole. This will enable long-term sustainable work in a given community. We will come alongside these groups to offer training and other help as needed.
